Continuing Education
The International Dyslexia Association is proud to offer continuing education credits at the Reading, Literacy & Learning Conference. Certificates of attendance will be available for each conference session.   

Participants can earn up to 21 clock hours for attending the 2021 Annual IDA Reading, Literacy & Learning Conference live sessions October 21-23, depending on sessions viewed.  Up to 90 clock hours are available for viewing the on-demand sessions (available beginning November 16), depending on sessions viewed.   Please contact your employer or agency prior to attending the conference to determine what is required for you to obtain credit hours.  Participants can obtain certificates of attendance for each session through test.com. 

You can earn up to 21 Clock Hours and 2.0 ASHA CEUs depending on sessions viewed for live sessions October 21 through October 23
On-demand sessions available to view beginning November 15 qualify for up to 90 clock hours and 9.0 ASHA CEUs depending on sessions viewed (NOTE:  this includes viewing the live sessions on-demand).  Participants can earn continuing education for 60 days (until January 14, 2022).
Participants can obtain certificates of attendance for each session through test.com

Continuing Education (CE) Eligibility 
CE eligibility for both LIVE and On-demand conference ends January 18, 2022.
(VIP Premium Registrants CE eligibility available for 1 year – except ASHA and VCU CEUs)

Continuing Education Reporting 

IDA is an approved CEU provider for the following organizations:

American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
The International Dyslexia Association is approved by the Continuing Education Board of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) to provide continuing education activities in speech-language pathology and audiology. See course information for number of ASHA CEUs, instructional level, and content area. ASHA CE Provider approval does not imply endorsement of course content, specific products, or clinical procedures. The live sessions (October 21-23) will be offered for up to 2.10 ASHA CEUs (various levels; professional area) depending on sessions viewed. The on-demand program is offered for up to 9.0 ASHA CEUs (various levels; professional area), depending on sessions viewed.

Academic Language Therapy Association (ALTA)
ALTA members may use the generic certificate of attendance they receive via email for continuing education credit.  Questions about continuing education credits should be directed to ALTA national headquarters ([email protected]). 
 
Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators (OGA)
The approved sessions approved for OGA CEUs are forthcoming.

Center for Effective Reading Instruction (CERI)
Center for Effective Reading Instruction certified educators may use the generic certificate(s) of attendance toward the renewal of their CERI credentials. For more information, please contact [email protected]

International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council (IMSLEC)
Graduates of IMSLEC-accredited training courses may use the generic certificate of attendance by IDA.  Questions about continuing education credits may be direct to IMSLEC ([email protected]).  Please contact your employer or agency BEFORE attending the conference to determine what is required for you to obtain credit hours.

Wilson Reading System
Wilson Reading System certified educators may use the certificate of attendance for the 2021 Annual IDA Reading, Literacy & Learning Conference toward the renewal of their Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner (W.D.P.) and Wilson Dyslexia Therapist (W.D.T.) credentials.  

Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU)

For professionals in education, psychology, counseling, and other areas, CEUs will be available through Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). Although not equivalent to VCU undergraduate or graduate credits, CEUs are recorded on a VCU certificate and a transcript that can be obtained without charge as often as requested. CEUs are accepted by many state agencies and professional organizations as evidence of contact or clock hours toward certificate renewal. 

One CEU is defined as ten (10) contact hours. It is possible to earn a total of 2.0 CEUs by attending all live conference sessions, October 21 through October 23. CEUs can be earned for one to three days, but not for partial-day attendance. The on-demand program is offered for up to 9.0 CEUs. A one-time $30 processing fee will be charged and must be paid directly via the VCU website, www.ocpe.vcu.edu.

Attendees must indicate the need for credit through VCU during the registration process. 
Attendees must complete the electronic check-in form each morning. More details will be provided. 
Once you are finished attending sessions, you MUST return your CEU packet to [email protected] to receive your credits.
Separate forms are required for the live presentation and the on-demand period. 

Conference Policies
Registration
All sessions must be chosen at least two-weeks prior to the conference and appear on your conference schedule to be considered for continuing education credits.

Cancellation
All cancellations, without exception, must be in writing via email to [email protected]  All refunds will be issued within 45 days from request less a $25 administrative fee. No cancellations after August 12, 2021.  All cancellations requests received after August 12, 2021 will be a credit towards the 2022 conference in San Antonio, TX.

Solicitation
IDA does not permit solicitation of any kind during the Reading, Literacy & Learning Conference, except by the paid exhibitors and sponsors during the virtual exhibit hall and networking times.  Solicitation by any business or person other than exhibitors or sponsors is strictly prohibited.

Session Room Capacity
All slots inside of each session are available on a first-come, first-entry basis unless otherwise noted.

Consent to Record
Registration and attendance or participation in the IDA Annual Conference and its affiliated meetings and events constitutes an agreement by the registrant for IDA and its affiliates to use and distribute (both now and in the future) the registrant's or attendee's image or voice in photographs, videotapes, electronic reproductions, and audiotapes of such events activities.
